Mackerel mission turned Striper off Plum Island

On Saturday we headed out off of Plum Island to find bait and get away from the masses...
We hit Macky's in 93ft of water and it wasn't long before we saw a group of bass feeding lazily on the surface.

Kate stuck this beauty after a school of bass charged her mackerel laden sabiki rig.  With out hesitation she grabbed a "pitch bait" & linked up!!  I keep telling her how fishy she is....

Salem Harbor, Oregon Springers, and Scup caught striper

Clubber Lang came tight on this 33" Salem slab right off of Gooseberry Island.  Later in the evening he linked up to something large & in-charge while trolling a pollock.  The fish dumped half the braid off of his Abu ambassador and was never heard from again : (

Nathan sent me this shot of a Eugene Springer that he scratched up while "swinging" flies on the Willamette.

Awesome pic of a 75lb striper caught in the Long Island Sound on a live Scup!

Boston Harbor Mission

Ipswich River & Cranes Beach

Harbor Trout Are Here!!

Capt. Jay from purelifecharters alerted me to the Manchester night scene on the last night of April.  The fish congregate under the dock lights and are very receptive to white flies stripped erratically.

The Crane beach striper scene is very similar to the Elk river, in that fish move into the system within casting range from terra firma.  Both locations are worthy of 9-10wt fly rods, chartreuse/white clousers, and 20 lb tippets.
