North Shore Fly rodding in Skinny water

My Buddy Colin Barr sent this photo from his outing this morning in Key West.  Seeing Tarpon like this makes me want to head south permanently....

Catch and Release for Striped Bass!

Charlie stuck this sweet Cod on a RonZ weighted soft bait off Stellwagon Bank.  RonZ lures are a perfect prospecting lure in deep water for virtually all species.

The other evening Capt. Peter Yukins and I were beating up some local spots and found some fresh fish lurking in the rocks.  Pete had his longtime friend Jimmy and son along for the ride and they got some great fish.  We were within shouting distance from one another and it was one of those memorable spring outings where you felt like the fishing couldn't get any better.

Kids Camp 2014

Randy Sigler's Ultimate Striper Camp is off to a good start again this year.  Striper's are slowly making they're way up the coast and we're on the water everyday looking for signs of life.  I had some awesome kids this week!

Max caught and released this beautiful specimen after Pete and Randy called us in on a surface melee that had everyone hooked up.  The other hookups were short lived, but Max was able to hang on to this slab - It was his first striped bass that he ever caught!

Flounder fishing in Marblehead is a fun way to spend a morning when the wind is cranking and water is cold.

Ocean temps warming and Stripers showing

Bent 6 wts and happy anglers.  This is what Schoolie action in PI Sound is all about!

A Mackeral with a small lamprey Eel attached - talk about the perfect striper bait

Alex Peru's Albie Snax from LCP - a perfect Sand Eel

John Hansen from Orvis, timed his visit with Greasy Beaks perfectly - we caught juvenile stripers on light fly rods the entire morning.  A great guy to fish with!
