Oregon has been my home since December and the steelhead fishing this winter has been inconsistent to say the least. Amidst the rain, snow, and hail the river conditions have remained high giving the migrating steelhead free reign to ascend the rivers unmolested. Its been hard as an oarsman to watch as great casts and presentations don't get bit when in years past it was a sure thing. Luckily my time has been spent with great friends fishing out of a beautiful Hyde drift boat and most importantly not shoveling snow back in New England. As April looms I'm holding out hope that a magical wave of Pacific North West steelhead come flooding in our system in time for sunny spring condtitions 😉
